Beginning of a New Chapter

Hello all, hope everyone had a great spring break!

It’s that time again, our mentoring blog is coming to an end. Before we halt so briefly we would like to first, thank everyone for participating and second, open the discussion board to any questions you may have within the topics that were discussed in the last couple of weeks.

Again, we thank you all in participating and hope you found the topics useful. We wish you luck in the rest of your UCF career as well as in our major.

Signing off for the final time as the “members of the Fantastic Four.”

  1. I really liked the blogging. It made me actually do things I needed to do but would not have done unless I was forced to do it. It has given me a step in the right direction. Thank you!

  2. I wish more classes had blogs like this it made it easy to see what other students thoughts on certain topics were because not everyone get to voice their opinions in class. I found these blogs helpful and I thank the "fantatic four group" for the information and guidance they shared with us.

  4. Doing the blogs helped me research and really open my mind (somewhat) to topics. I loved that we got to read other students responses and having to respond to what they said. It really got me involved and I wish that more classes had blogs liket this. Thanks again Fantastic Four Group for all the help, and from everyone else!

  5. I really enjoyed the blog. I also agree with several other posts; I wish that more classes had a blog so that way we could discuss topics freely. Also, I really want to thank all of the mentors for really helping me to understand and feel confident about my Interdiscplinary Studies degree. Also, I cannot remember who responded to my post about wanting to work for Toms Shoes, but one of the mentors suggested that I look into Bajalia in Winter Park. Well, I did and I am actually in the process of editing my resume and writing a cover letter to apply for an internship with them this summer. I really did learn a lot. Also, I did have a question for all of the mentors. Since you guys are currently in the Capstone class and are close to graduation, what are your plans? How are you all planning to use your IDS degrees?

  6. Blogging helped me take a look at some issues that I had marked as "too difficult" to consider. It made me take time out from the daily grind, so to speak, and really delve into ideas that kind of changed my perspective on what it means to be an Interdisciplinary Studies student. I no longer feel like the only reasoning I have behind choosing this major is to graduate. I feel like I've found ways to integrate the three aspects of my degree into goals that I find academically, personally and professionally. Thank you for this opportunity!
